Toonz Media Group and Miami-based media conglomerate, Cisneros Media have officially entered into a significant co-production and co-distribution agreement for the highly anticipated animated series Nerlies: Space Babie. The strategic deal will focus on the co-production and global distribution of the CGI animated series (52 x 11 mins) preceded by a global digital content strategy. This collaboration is inspired by the best-selling toys from the renowned Mexican toy giant, Distroller. The jointly announced strategic partnership aims to combine the creative strengths of both companies to deliver compelling content, supported by an extensive licensing and merchandising strategy. Certified as a European Union production, Cisneros Media Distribution will exclusively handle media content distribution rights in LatAm and North America, while Toonz will oversee distribution rights for the rest of the world.

Toonz Media Group announced it is producing a feature film adaptation of bestselling kids’ book Santa on a Panda, written by Parker Jacobs of the Dumb Idea Group. The project will be produced and executive produced by multi-Emmy Award winner Brian A. Miller (Adventure Time, Regular Show, Primal, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends). Based on the children’s book and song, Santa on a Panda will be produced by Toonz Media Group. The synopsis reads: With all of Santa’s reindeer missing and Mrs Claus on a one-woman mission to find them before Christmas Eve, Santa must work against all odds and join up with his most extraordinary friend, a flying Panda.
After the opening session of the Annual Soft Power Club conference held at Technopark, the 20-member Italian Delegation, led by Mr. Francesco Rutelli, President of the Soft Power Club, went for a guided tour of Technopark Campus. The delegation visited pioneering IT companies and changemakers in Technopark and we are proud to inform that Toonz Animation is one of the companies they chose to visit. Dr. Rathan U Kelkar, Secretary, E & ITD, Government of Kerala, and Col Sanjeev Nair (Retd), CEO, Technopark, accompanied Shri Amitabh Kant, G20 Sherpa, and the visiting delegates during this guided tour of Technopark.
We are pleased to share that a brand-new episode from Aquateam Sea Adventure “The Turtle and the Manatee” was broadcasted at Italian RAI Yoyo TV Channel on February 23. The 24-minute Aquateam special episode is co-produced by GraFFiti Creative and Toonz Media Group. In each TV Special, the H2OTeam formed by the champion of the environment Marysun and her inseparable sidekick, Otty the octopus, set sail on their super-ecological “Catamarin”, from their base on the coast of Sardinia, to the Arctic Sea, the Pacific, up to the Mediterranean Sea. The mission of exploring and defending the marine environment and its wonderful creatures will be shared with Desy, a little girl fond of the “Blue Planet”.
Our very own in-house cricket team Toonz Pirates recently won a match against Pressganey XI by 7 runs in the ongoing Technopark Cricket Premier League. It may be noted that the soft ball cricket tournament is conducted exclusively for the companies located in Technopark Trivandrum.
Toonz Academy recently conducted an Acting Essential Workshop for its animation film making students. The workshop was handled by Mr. Viju Varma, a theatre artist, alumnus of School of Drama and distinguished Creative Director and Producer, and recipient of the Kerala State Award, with over 20 years of experience. This session proved to be a priceless experience for our aspiring animators, offering them distinctive insights on the importance of acting skills in animation.
